Saju Mia, Shibganj (Bogra) Representative:
Strict lockdown is going on in Shibganj Upazila of Bogra. Shibganj police station premises, Nagar Bandar, and other places are guarded by police. Those who went out unnecessarily are being sent back home as they could not give the necessary explanation for going out after interrogation.
Upazila Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mouli Mandal is conducting a mobile court under the auspices of the Upazila administration and taking necessary action against the violators of the lockdown.
The busiest ports of Shibganj Upazila including Shibganj Thana Mor, Nagar Port, Mahasthan, Mokamatla, Kichak, Daridaha, Pirab, and other major ports of the Upazila were empty since Thursday morning on the second day of all-out lockdown. Apart from a few rickshaws, motorcycles and battery-powered easy bikes, and CNG, not many vehicles were seen plying on these roads.
No one was seen moving without a police movement in the all-out lockdown that started across the country from Wednesday, April 14 to April 21.
Shibganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sirajul Islam said no vehicles other than emergency vehicles were allowed on the road. People who have taken to the streets for emergency work also have to abide by hygiene rules and government guidelines.
