Bogra Shibganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Kulsum Sampar’s intervention saved a schoolgirl named Sadia Akhter (15) from child marriage.

The girl is the daughter of farmer Khairul Islam of Natmarichai village in Bihar union of the Upazila and a class 10 student of Shibganj Pilot Girls High School.

It has been reported that the marriage of the student with an army member of the Mohasthan area of ​​Shibganj Upazila was arranged. All the arrangements for the wedding are arranged at home on the occasion of the wedding as per the pre-arranged schedule on Thursday.

Upon receiving the news that child marriage was taking place, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Umme Kulsum Sampa raided the marriage house.

Sensing the presence of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, her parents rushed to the spot with the minor girl. Later, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer did not find the girl’s parents and wrote a letter from the girl’s relatives including her uncle and uncle to prevent her from getting married. It is learned that the groom did not go to the wedding after receiving such news.

In this regard, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Umme Kulsum said, the operation has been conducted based on the news that child marriage is taking place. Musleka has been taken from relatives as their parents, including the minor girl, are not at home.
